THE BUILDING A HEART CENTERED BRAND

I'd love to share the stories behind the choices of my images and words behind my brand. I have chosen to run my business from a heart centered space. The following will walk you through the process I went in choosing my brand emphasis. My hope is that by sharing my story you will gain clarity around a possible way to build yours.

If you have been in my community for any amount of time you will know how much I LOOOVE Lighthouses, Hearts, and the words: Shine, Light, and of course Wholehearted.

Wholehearted – As you can see…I have it tattooed on my body. LOL. This word and way of living caused such a shift in my soul. I was introduced to Brene Brown by my friend Lindsay Teague Moreno  who is an avid reader. This word is at the center of every one of her writings and it literally made my heart grow two sizes. Here is the definition of Wholehearted Living directly from Brene Brown: “Wholehearted living is about engaging in our lives from a place of worthiness. It means cultivating the courage, compassion, and connection to wake up in the morning and think, ‘No matter what gets done and how much is left undone, I am enough.'” Brene Brown’s books and Ted Talks created so much space in my soul. She introduced me to the difference between shame and guilt. She gave me permission and language to begin to share my story. I have chosen to build my business model and life around these quotes in particular: “If we can share our story with someone who responds with empathy and understanding, shame can’t survive.” And, “Owning our story can be hard but not nearly as difficult as spending our lives running from it. Embracing our vulnerabilities is risky but not nearly as dangerous as giving up on love and belonging and joy—the experiences that make us the most vulnerable. Only when we are brave enough to explore the darkness will we discover the infinite power of our light.” “You are imperfect, you are wired for struggle, but you are worthy of love and belonging.” Lastly, “The dark does not destroy the light; it defines it. It’s our fear of the dark that casts our joy into the shadows.” This is a perfect transition to my lighthouse branding…

My lighthouse brand – which is another tattoo I have – has a powerful story that created a powerful shift in my soul. I had a traumatic experience happen several years ago when someone filed a false report to Child Protective Services. The report was laughable, honestly. Logically, I should have shaken this false report off like dirt off my shoulder – however – this was anything but logical. When someone attacks my children – crazy mama bear comes out – and all of the dark emotions came out with her. I was reeling and couldn’t gain my footing. So I reached out to a friend in my business organization that has the gift of intuition. She spoke such pivotal words over me – I was never the same. She helped me understand why I struggled creating healthy boundaries for myself. She validated that I have the gift of empathy – and although it felt like a weakness at this time – it is actually one of my God – given superpowers. Then she said this, “Rosy – you are buzzing around like a rescue boat trying to save people that are drowning on purpose when you were created to be a lighthouse – firmly planted on a rock shining your light for people who WANT and NEED your light.” These words immediately reminded me of Matthew 5:16 “Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in Heaven.” They also helped me climb out of my pit and really launched me onto solid ground to begin healing from that trauma. Lastly, these words also also encouraged me to begin to really show up! A special thank you to Heather Wood for speaking these life giving words over me. Recently, another woman with a similar gifting shared this, “You know Rosy, they don’t build lighthouses in safe places.” These words woke me RIGHT up and helped me remember that I am resilient and that a huge part of my life’s purpose is to help guide people to safe harbor when they are in the middle of a storm. Last but not least, I was recently introduced to Human Design by the lovely Marlo Nikkila at one of her Peaceful Magic Retreats. Human Design is a detailed personality profile – and my design is one of a Projector. A projectors purpose is to “shine a light in a specific way.” How fun is that? More and more and more confirmation and clarity.

I have learned to listen to my heart and notice if it is expanding or contracting when I go a certain direction. I observe whether the light I have within (btw – that is powered by the Holy Spirit) is shining brightly enough for people to find safe harbor. That means that I am called to talk about the darkness – to bring these things into the light. It can be uncomfortable and sometimes even feel dangerous or scary – but then I go to Bev Manchester‘s words and I remember “They don’t build lighthouses in safe places.” And that gives me the courage to keep on shining brightly!

I am so thankful to have found a company that aligns so beautifully with my brand and purpose. I get to partner with people who are ready to write new chapters of their stories! I utilize Young Living Essential Oils   and other purpose-filled products to help friends make that mind/body/spirit connection. They become aware, awake, and alive, and then they begin shining their light for others to see! I’m absolutely honored to play a part in this process.

When you create a brand around such personal and pivotal experiences you have a powerful place from which to check back in. To ask questions like, “Does this align with my vision, mission, and intentions?” “Am I owning my story?” “Is this of service?” “Are my strengths and gifts being utilized?” “Am I showing up authentically?” Choose a brand that you can answer these questions with a resounding “YES!” I would love to know this this helped you. Please shoot me a message so I can celebrate you stepping into your story!
